Pedigree Boosters - Magic Millions Tasmanian Yearling Sale

In the build up to the Magic Millions Tasmanian Yearling Sale, we will pick out three yearlings who have had substantial pedigree updates in the past couple of months.

Today, we look at a colt whose older brother has been getting the job done as a local 2-year-old, the half-brother to the Hobart Cup winner and a colt whose sister has been racking up the wins.

Lot 11 - Fighting Sun x In Harmony (Exceed And Excel) - On Account of Grenville Stud

This colt's dam In Harmony had already produced four winners when the catalogue first went to print, but since that point, the 2-year-old full brother to this colt, Entrapped broke his maiden in impressive fashion at Launceston last month before being stakes placed in the Listed Elwick S. He also lined up in Sunday's Magic Millions 2YO Classic.

Lot 82 - Alpine Eagle x Smooth Return (Redoute's Choice) - On Account of Alva Stud

This colt's half-sister Toorak Affair (Toorak Toff) has been in quite a rich vein of form of late, winning three races on end culminating in the G3 Hobart Cup earlier this month. She is also set to contest the G3 Launceston Cup on Wednesday.

The dam's side hails back to American stakes winners such as Silky Sweep (USA) (End Sweep {USA}), Chapel Royal (USA) (Montbrook {USA}) and Lillycut (USA) (Cutlass {USA}), while Australian black-type winners Gypsy Diamond (Not A Single Doubt) and Motspur (Flying Spur) also feature on the page.

Lot 121 - Wordsmith x Buzzing Along (Tough Speed {USA}) - On Account of Armidale Stud

This colt's half-sister Deroche (Needs Further) had already had multiple placings at stakes level and won the Magic Millions Tasmania 2YO Classic last year. She put together a trio of recent wins in the past two months and was then placed in the G3 Bow Mistress S. before winning the Magic Millions 3YO & 4YO Classic on Sunday.

The second dam, Almighty Buzz (Supremo) is a half-sister to black-type winner Martelomeo (Marscay) from the family of stakes-winners Danaides (Rory Jester), The Huntress (Husson {Arg}) and Regal Crown (Not A Single Doubt).
