I went to see my stallion, Rubick, who looked great as always over at Swettenham, but it was a good opportunity to go to Leneva Park when invited that morning. It was a brilliant day there; although it was predicted to be a little cold, the weather turned out beautifully and they were supported by a great crowd, too.
The first 25 people to book into Fierce Impact were put into a draw for a trip to the Japan Cup, which was won by a lady from Tasmania. What a lovely offering from Leneva Park!

That horse’s trainer, Matt Smith, was there to see the horse for the first time since he left his stables, and he said the horse was ‘our pride and joy’.
The stallions behaved perfectly, they marched out and didn’t turn a hair. Royal Meeting is a cool dude, he seemed to enjoy taking in the crowd.
Physically, I thought Royal Meeting paraded really well and looks like he’ll continue to furnish as his stallion career progresses. When I saw Fierce Impact my immediate thought was how much presence he had for a son of Deep Impact – he’s a lovely, rangey horse and they’re very proud of him.

The team at Leneva reported that Royal Meeting has very nice foals, and that he’s upgrading them. The stallion is balanced and correct, with a great attitude, so it’s reassuring to hear that he’s passing these traits on to his progeny.
