G3 Rotorua Cup, NZ$85,000, 2200m

Sinarahma (NZ) (Darci Brahma {NZ}) is heading to the breeding barn this spring and what a great record she is building en route, this dominant victory her second at Group 3 level alongside her two Listed successes.

One of the 55 stakes winners for her five-time Group 1-winning, The Oaks Stud-based sire, she was bred by Nearco Stud Ltd and Pee Gee Bloodstock. She is the first foal for the four-time Group 1 winner Shez Sinsational (NZ) (Ekraar {USA}) whose second foal House Of Cartier (NZ) (Alamosa {NZ}) is also a Group 3 winner.

Shez Sinsational, whose 3-year-old daughter Manifique (NZ) (Savabeel) won her maiden a few weeks ago, is out of the stakes-placed Original Sin (NZ) (Shinko King {Ire}) whose granddaughter Our Hail Mary (NZ) (Ocean Park {NZ}) is also a Group 3 winner.

Boasting crosses of the great mares Natalma (USA) (Native Dancer {USA}), Special (USA) (Forli {Arg}), Sans Tares (GB) (Sind {GB}) and her own ancestress Sister Sarah (GB), Sinarahma hails from the branch of the prolific Pretty Polly (GB) (Gallinule {GB}) family as the G1 Malboro Mile winner Brutus (NZ) (Balios {GB}).

G3 Rotorua S., NZ$80,000, 1400m

A homebred for G.J McCarthy, the exciting mare is the 84th stakes winner for her former shuttling sire out of the two-time winner Matagouri (NZ) (High Chaparral {Ire}) whose dam Triage (NZ) (Volksraad {GB}) is a half-sister to the G3 Eulogy S. winner Monterey Bay (NZ) (Kaapstad {NZ}).

Too good first-up off the back of a big trial win, Francesca (NZ) (Iffraaj {GB}) put on a classy performance recording the fifth win of her nine-start career.

Served last spring by Iffraaj's (GB) son Ribchester (Ire), Matagouri sadly lost her previous foal but she has a yearling full sister (named Eloise {NZ}) to Francesca.

Bred on a 4 X 5 cross of Special (USA) (Forli {Arg}), Francesca is a descendant of the legendary broodmare Cinna (GB) (Polymelus {GB}). Her third and fourth dams Sabbatical (NZ) (Bakharoff {USA}) and Secunda (Acidity) are both stakes winners with the former being the grandam of the recent stakes winner Ayrton (NZ), also by Iffraaj.
