Aquis Farm has added a 16th stallion to its Queensland roster for 2021, with Lean Mean Machine to relocate from Victoria, where he has stood his first two seasons.

The Group 2-winning son of Zoustar served books of 147 and 73 in his first two seasons, with 89 foals from his first crop.

He joins a powerful Aquis roster from its Queensland base, which includes Pierata and Invader, who were among those stallions to move north from New South Wales in 2021.

“It’s fitting that Lean Mean Machine comes home to Queensland. He was bred in Queensland, by Glenlogan Park, he raced in Queensland winning a Group 2 and will now stand his third season at stud, in Queensland," Aquis Farm's Director of Sales, Jonathan Davies, said.

“Lean Mean Machine has covered healthy books of mares in his two seasons at stud. His arrival back in Queensland will give local and interstate breeders the opportunity to tap into a sireline that is on the up, his own sire Zoustar is an out-and-out Champion.

“We have received very good feedback on his first foals. To have foals born that are the spitting image of their own sire, with his demeanour and type is a recipe for success in the breeding barn.

"Lean Mean Machine will warrant consideration from all top breeders and is priced at $13,200 (inc GST).”

Lean Mean Machine won the G2 BRC Sires' Produce in 2018, emulating what his own sire won in 2013. He also won the G2 Run To The Rose before finishing third in a historic Zoustar trifecta in the G1 Coolmore Classic behind Sunlight and Zousain.

He won three of his 11 starts and over $450,000 in prizemoney.

His first crop of foals will be offered through the upcoming Inglis Australian and Magic Millions National Weanling sales. He has four weanlings, three fillies and a colt, included in next month's Inglis sale in Sydney, while the Gold Coast catalogue has not yet been confirmed.
