1). Feature: Dar Re Mi (GB) produced a full-brother to Too Darn Hot (GB) at Watership Down Stud last week. Emma Berry catches up Simon Marsh.

“Dar Re Mi is going to Kingman (GB) this year. We now have four sisters to Too Darn Hot and I think we just need to try to get some other blood. Putting some miling speed into her seemed to be the right thing to do with Dubawi, and Kingman looks like he’s going to be a very good stallion. I think he’ll suit her very well.” - Simon Marsh

2). Feature: Sean Cronin reflects on his favourite TDN Europe Rising Stars of all time, including Zarkava (Ire), Lope De Vega (Ire), Siyouni (Fr), etc.

"Five of her [Zarkava] six subsequent starts were at the highest level and she retired unbeaten with a magnificent seven under her belt, accounting for the likes of Goldikova (Ire), Dar Re Mi (GB) and Youmzain (Ire) along the way." - Sean Cronin

1). News: NYRA is hoping to race in Saratoga this summer, and here’s why.

"Even if we can’t have fans at the track, the handle for a Saturday at Saratoga will be close to double what we would handle if the races were held at Belmont and certainly a lot more than what we would handle at Aqueduct. Being up there will allow us to handle a lot more money on our races and that means much larger purses.” - Martin Panza

2). Video: After 30 years at the helm of Denali Stud, its founders, Craig and Holly Bandoroff are starting to hand the reins over to their son, Conrad. Kelsey Riley catches up with the family for TDN.

3). Feature: The COVID-19 virus has quarantined this week’s G1 Kentucky Derby, which has been rescheduled for Sept. 5th. The last time America’s most famous horse race got pushed off its traditional first Saturday in May calendar spot was 1945, when the nation was embroiled in World War II. T.D. Thornton explains.

"Right now, the prospect of a Derby being run when the world is safer is something we can all look forward to, even if the new Labor Day weekend date doesn’t dovetail with tradition. So go ahead and get teary-eyed singing “My Old Kentucky Home” this Saturday for sentimentality’s sake. But for good measure, be sure to belt out a few choruses of “See You in September” too." - T.D.
