This is the launch of a new column, Sale Standouts, where we profile several mares who have exceptional credentials based on a certain theme. In today's TDN AusNZ we highlight five mares with significant international pedigrees to be offered at the Inglis Chairman's Sale.

Lot 30 - Baileya (Ire) - (Cacique (USA) x Desert Bloom (Ire))

Offered by Twin Hills Stud, in foal to Lope De Vega (Ire)

This mare is a particularly special offering as one of two mares in the Chairman's Sale carrying a Southern Hemisphere cover to top Irish sire Lope De Vega (Ire).

The Ballylinch Stud-based stallion shuttled to Patinack Farm from 2011 to 2014, covering 468 mares. His best Australian progeny are multiple Group 1-winning sprinters Santa Ana Lane and Vega Magic.

Lot 30 - Baileya (Ire)

Baileya (Ire) is a half-sister to multiple Group 1 winner and Champion Stayer Fiorente (Ire), and the dam of perennial high class placegetter Tom Melbourne (Ire) (Dylan Thomas {Ire}) and stakes-winner Araaja (Ire) (Iffraaj {GB}).

"Baileya is from one of the great families nurtured for generations by Lord Weinstock at Ballymacoll Stud in Ireland. Her pedigree and covering are full of class.” - Olly Tait

Lot 34 - Cheering (USA) - (War Front (USA) x Kissed (Ire))

Offered by Coolmore Stud, in foal to Frankel (GB)

Cheering (USA) is a daughter of international star sire War Front (USA) from stakes-winning Galileo (Ire) mare Kissed (Ire). Her first foal is by Champion French Sire Siyouni (Fr) and she is currently in foal to Champion Irish Sire Frankel (GB) on an October cover.

Cheering's dam Kissed (Ire) is a half-sister to G1 Epsom Derby winner Pour Moi (Ire) (Montjeu {Ire}) and the dam of stakes placed Leo Minor (USA) (War Front {USA}).

This is the family of blue hen mare Snow Bride (USA), dam of Champion European 3-year-old Lammtarra (Ire).

"Her Danehill-free pedigree means she is an ideal mare for our top-class Danehill-line stallions, as she carries an enviable mix of War Front, Galileo and Darshaan blood." - John Kennedy

Lot 40 - Grey Queen (USA) - (More Than Ready (USA) x Dalmiya (Fr))

Offered by Newgate Farm, in foal to Lope De Vega (Ire)

It's not surprising that a focus on international pedigrees will result in several of HH The Aga Khan's great families being featured.

Grey Queen (USA) (More Than Ready {USA}) is a daughter of Kalanisi (Ire) mare Dalmiya (Ire), a half-sister to European Horse of the Year and top European sire Daylami (Ire), Champion Stayer and top European sire Dalakhani (Ire), and two other stakes winners.

Grey Queen herself is a sister to French Group 3 winner Dalwari (USA) (More Than Ready {USA}) and eight-time winner Baldonnel (USA) (Langfuhr {Can}). She also carries a positive to Lope De Vega (Ire).

“This is a rare opportunity to buy into one of HH the Aga Khan’s most highly esteemed families. Pedigrees don’t come any deeper." - Henry Field

Lot 71 - Mandayana - (Zoustar x Mandawara (Fr))

Offered by Segenhoe Stud, in foal to Exceed And Excel

Mandayana hails from one of the best HH The Aga Khan families and is a half-sister to Khan (Exceed And Excel), carrying an early September pregnancy to Exceed And Excel which will result in her producing a three-quarter in blood to the Breeders' Plate winner.

Dam Mandawara (Fr) (Daylami {Fr}), currently in foal to another Aga Khan-bred champion in The Autumn Sun, is a half-sister to three-time Group 1 winner Manighar (Fr) (Linamix {Fr}). The 10-time winning star also had stakes wins in France prior to his export to Australia, where he earned over $3 million.

Lot 71 - Mandayana

Stakes placed second dam Mintly Fresh (USA) (Rubiano {USA}) also produced French stakes-winner Minatlya (Fr) (Linamix {Fr}) and stakes placed Manndawi (Dalakhani {Fr}).

“Mandayana is a breathtakingly beautiful mare by Zoustar whose racetrack talent was unfulfilled due to injury.” - Peter O'Brien

Lot 77 - Viviette (Ire) - (Invincible Spirit (Ire) x Vincennes (GB))

Offered by Glenesk Thoroughbreds, in foal to Trapeze Artist

Viviette is a granddaughter of Park Appeal (GB) (Ahonoora {Ire}), the top 2-year-old filly in Ireland, dual Group 1 winner, and blue hen producer. Park Appeal had nine foals to race, all were winners, four were stakes winners and another two were stakes placed.

This is a pedigree featuring several top European stallions. Vivette's dam Vincennes is a half-sister to Cape Cross (Ire), Pastorale (GB) (Nureyev {GB}) the dam of Iffraaj (GB) and Arvola (GB) dam of dual Group 1 winner Diktat (GB).

Lot 77 - Viviette (Ire)

Viviette is offered in foal to four-time Group 1 winner Trapeze Artist on a September cover.

“Viviette is by one of Europe’s best stallions and is from one of Europe’s best families. We know her sire works well here via the likes of I Am Invincible. We also know her female line has worked well here via the deeds of Group 1 winner Hot Snitzel." - Brett Howard
