Pedigree Boosters - Perth Magic Millions

3 min read

In the build up to the Magic Millions Perth Yearling Sale, we will pick out three yearlings each day who have had substantial pedigree updates in the past couple of months.

Today, we touch on a half-brother to a back-to-back winner in Singapore, a filly from the family of a recent Group 2 winner at Caulfield, and a full brother to a placegetter in the Magic Millions WA 2YO Classic.

Lot 311 – Snippetson x Bellasinga (Danasinga) – Offered by Dawson Stud

This colt is a half-brother to Gold Kingdom (Animal Kingdom {USA}), who scored two consecutive victories in Singapore on December 6 and January 1. Ridden by Australian jockeys Vlad Duric and Michael Rodd, he scored two emphatic victories by 1.25l and 2l. Gold Kingdom now has two wins and six placings to his name in his fledgling Singapore career.

The second dam of this colt is the Listed winner Be My Princess (Chief’s Crown {USA}), who is the dam of Flying Princess (Flying Spur), who won at Listed level in South Africa.

Further back in the family, the pedigree features the G1 Fruit ‘n’ Veg S. winner St Clemens Belle (Don’t Say Halo {USA}).

Lot 316 – Bradbury’s Luck x Born Princess (Elusive Quality {USA}) – Offered by Yarradale Stud

This filly comes from the same family as Anaheed (Fastnet Rock), who scored an outstanding first-up victory in the G2 Rubiton S. on February 8. She placed in the G1 Manikato S. in the spring.

The family has another recent black-type pedigree update through Tommy Blue (Gingerbread Man), who placed in the R. Listed Magic Millions WA 3YO Trophy.

This filly is a half-sister to three winners, while her second dam Born Priceless (Pricelessly {USA}) won the G2 Karrakatta P. and placed in four other stakes races including the G3 MVRC Champagne S. and Vanity S.

Born Priceless is the dam of stakes placed Born to Excel (Exceed And Excel), and she is a half-sister to the dams of Group 1 winners Rostova (Testa Rossa) and Imananabaa (Anabaa {USA}).

Lot 329 – I’m All The Talk x Coventry to Rio (Oratorio) – Offered by Mungrup Stud

Out of a stakes placed mare, this colt is a full brother to Watch Me Dance (I’m All The Talk), who was an unraced 2-year-old when the catalogue went to print.

Since then, that filly has won impressively on debut at Bunbury, then stepped up to stakes level and placed in the R. Listed Magic Millions WA 2YO Classic.

The pair’s dam Coventry to Rio (Oratorio) was a winner and placed in the Listed Aquanita S., and she is out of a half-sister to the G3 AJC Up & Coming S. winner West End (Zephyr Bay). The family also features the stakes performers Captain Comeram (Comeram {Fr}) and Jump Buoy (Buoy {GB}).
