A new season plan has already been locked in by Anthony Cummings for his budding star Libertini (I Am Invincible), who is continuing a long and successful association between the trainer’s family and the talented owner Gerry Harvey.

Libertini was a debut second in the G3 Kindergarten S. before she won at Randwick and she had little more than a working gallop under jockey Tommy Berry to add the Listed Yarraman Park Woodlands S. at Scone to her record.

Cummings said the 2-year-old was destined to go right to the top and he will now spell her with a spring programme in place to give her the opportunity to prove the Randwick horseman right.

“I’d be surprised if she wasn’t a Group 1 winner, perhaps more than one. She’s made the best start of any baby I’ve had.

“She’ll have a break now and then come back for the Princess Series and the Flight S.”

Libertini is a daughter of the G1 Coolmore Classic winner Aloha (Encosta de Lago) and was bred by Harvey, who had horses with Cummings’ late father Bart for many years.

“I’ve had a few for Gerry along the way and this filly is probably the best horse he has given to me,’’ Cummings said.

“I’m very pleased with her and showed another edge to be able to sit outside the speed. We’ve been teaching her to switch off and I left it up to Tommy.”

“I worked her on Tuesday morning and said she’d win with a leg in the air.” – Tommy Berry.

Berry had a tight grip on Libertini 250 metres and when he slipped her a little more rein she surged clear and was easing down in the closing 75 metres to score by a couple of lengths.

“I worked her on Tuesday morning and said she’d win with a leg in the air,” he said. “She went to the gates like a 5-year-old, she’s just so relaxed. Cummings and Libertini following her win in the Listed Yarraman Park Woodlands S. at Scone

“I thought she was the best horse in the race and rode her like it.”

In a grand result for race sponsor Yarraman Park, the runner-up Regimental Band is also a daughter of their outstanding resident sire I Am Invincible.
