Race Summary:

The recently formed racing partnership of Michael and Richard Freedman got off to a flying start with Special Missile (Special Missile) leading all the way to take out the Listed Scone Cup.

Special Missile jumped well and jockey Sam Clipperton let him roll along at his own pace in front. There were queries against him lasting the 1600m trip, however he kicked away in the straight and narrowly held off the favourite Fierce Impact (Jpn) (Deep Impact {Jpn}) to win by a nose with Goldstream (Ity) (Martino Alonso {Ire}) a length and a quarter back in third.

Pedigree Notes:

Special Missile became the ninth individual winner for his sire Smart Missile this season. He is out of the imported US stakes winner Quiet Meadow (USA) (El Prado {Ire}), who is the dam of three-time winner Red Sensation (Flying Spur). She has a yearling filly by Deep Field and is in foal to More Than Ready (USA). Special Missile is her first stakes winner.
