The dam of Australia's leading sprinter Santa Ana Lane (Lope De Vega {Ire}) has been added to the upcoming Inglis Chairman's Sale.

Fast Fleet (Fastnet Rock) will be offered by Aquis Farm in foal to Widden Stud’s outstanding young stallion Zoustar, after she was given a wildcard entry to the sale.

The decision to offer her for sale comes just eight days after Santa Ana Lane claimed his fifth Group 1 victory, with an authoritative success in the TJ Smith S, at Randwick.

There is every possibility by the time she goes through the sales ring on May 3, he may have added a sixth and first international Group 1, with the 6-year-old to tackle the Chairman's Sprint at Sha Tin on April 28.

“She is in-foal to one of the most exciting young stallions in the world." - Aquis CEO Shane McGrath

A shot at the G1 Diamond Jubilee S. at Royal Ascot is also on the agenda.

Aquis Farm CEO Shane McGrath said Fast Fleet was 'a mare at the peak of her powers’.

“She is only 12 and has been very conservatively mated’’ McGrath said.

“On her one mating with a top-class stallion she has produced arguably the best sprinter in the world which speaks volumes for her quality."

“She is in-foal to one of the most exciting young stallions in the world and is an appealing mating for plenty of the most commercial stallions in the land, so I expect she will appeal to a broad cross section of people’’ he added.

Inglis' Bloodstock Manager NSW, Chris Russell said the company was rapt that Aquis was able to offer Fast Fleet through the sale.

“Aquis Farm and the Fung family have been great supporters of our sales right throughout the year, particularly last week at the Easter Sale and we are delighted to be able to offer a mare of this quality on their behalf," he said.

“The fact that he is the 1200m track record holder at Randwick speaks volumes for the class of Santa Ana Lane and as we saw at the Easter sale last week, people love buying yearlings out of mares that are proven producers," he said.

The Chairman’s Sale will be held at Riverside Stables from 6.30pm on Friday May 3 with the 53 mares in the main catalogue as well as wildcards such as Loving Gaby’s dam Maastricht, who is in foal to I Am Invincible, Symi (Fastnet Rock) and Sensibility (Redoute’s Choice).
