Group 3 Suez Newcastle Newmarket H.

Race Summary :

Princess Posh (Canford Cliffs {Ire}) produced an irresistible finish from the back of the field to deliver a local victory for trainer Kris Lees.

The 5-year-old was unplaced when resuming in the G3 Triscay S. at Randwick, but turned her form around to put paid to the favourite Savatiano (Street Cry {Ire}) and her third win from five appearances on her home course.

She was parked three wide among the tailenders and answered every call from jockey Brenton Avdulla to come over the top of Savatiano, who was clear 250 metres from home, with Lanciato (NZ) (Per Incanto {USA}) arriving from last to take third money.

Pedigree Notes :

Doubling her Group 3 tally after landing the Tibbie S. on the track in the spring, Princess Posh is a daughter of The Baroness (Viscount), successful in one modest race.

All three of her foals to race have won and she is out of the two-time stakes winner Verdict Declared (Mr Henrysee {USA}), the dam of the G3 Millie Fox S. winner A Country Girl (Singspiel {Ire}).

The headline act on the pedigree page is Verdict Declared’s brother Mr Innocent, who numbered the G1 Doomben 10,000 and four Group 2 victories among his 14 wins.
