Listed Tasmanian Oaks, Launceston

Race Summary:

Shady Hustle gave Hussonet (USA) his 98th global stakes winner with an upset win in the Listed Brooklyn Park Tasmanian Oaks at Launceston.

Jockey Bulent Muhcu, who rides the filly in most of her work, replaced usual rider Ryan Bishop who was injured in an earlier race, and gave Shady Hustle a perfect steer.

She powered clear at the top of the straight and held off Our Long Sali (Needs Further) by 1.25l, with Godolphin 's Rock Dove (Epaulette) in third, unable to recreate her win from the recent Listed Strutt S. in Hobart.

Shady Hustle, a $3300 online buy for trainer Stephen Lockhart last June, has now won four of her six starts and $147,700 in prizemoney.

Pedigree Notes:

Shady Hustle is out of Shady Grove (Legion), a city-winning mare in Adelaide who has already produced the winners Ashady Hussy (Hussonet {USA}), Cool Target (Red Arrow) and Regal Grove (Danerich).

Shady Grove's dam Coral Key (Dolphin Street {Fr}) is a half-borther to stakes placed Oh Brother (Amen Brother), while stakes-placegetters Tiona, Da Capo, Trupt and Kirona also feature on the pedigree page.

Shady Hustle was originally a $30,000 Adelaide Magic Millions buy for Bryan and Daniel Guy and Aquis Farm.
