Moonee Valley: Group 3 Typhoon Tracy S.

Race Summary

Embrace Me (NZ) (Shamexpress {NZ}) showed an electric turn of foot to come from last on the turn, bursting through runners under a brilliant Brett Prebble ride.

Danny O’Brien’s filly was unwanted in betting despite an unlucky last start third at Caulfield and stunned rivals with a win that indicates more stakes wins could be in order during the autumn.

Embrace Me’s record now stands at 3 wins from 8 starts, but those 3 victories have come from the rapidly improving filly’s last four starts.

Team Hayes-trained Victory Kingdom (Animal Kingdom {USA}) showed surprising pace to lead and make the running well into the 1200m event and hung on well for third, just behind stablemate Spanish Whisper (Lope De Vega {Ire}).

Pedigree Notes

Embrace Me was a $90,000 purchase out of the Henley Park draft at the 2017 Inglis Premier Yearling Sale.

Embrace Me’s dam Party Royal (King’s Chapel) was unplaced but is a half-sister to G1 New Zealand Derby winner Military Move (NZ) (Volksraad {GB}) and Carbon Copy (NZ) (Volksraad {GB}), a 9-time winner in Singapore.

The promising filly is from the same family as G1 winner Catalan Opening (NZ) (Kaapstad {NZ}).
