A quickfire round with bloodstock agent James Harron

TDN: Favourite racing moment of 2018?

JH: Watching Winx winning the Cox Plate at Moonee Valley was very special. I was at the top of the grandstand with some friends and could see the spectacular emotion of the entire crowd. It was very special and inspirational, especially with the yearling sales just around the corner.

TDN: And non-racing moment?

JH: My wife Alison and I had our second child, Charlotte.

TDN: Best thing about Magics and the Gold Coast?

JH: Fast horses and an amazing atmosphere - two things which work very well together.

TDN: What progeny have impressed you so far on your MM inspections?

JH: Outside of all the usual suspects I was delighted to see some very well put together Vancouver yearlings, who I think will sell very well in January.

Although he was very precocious himself, he did a lot of maturing physically through the autumn and winter months so to see some very forward sorts for January is very encouraging.

At a more modest service fee level I was also impressed with the yearlings by Super One and Scissor Kick, both talented sons of top stallions who have some really nice early running types being presented in January.

TDN: New Year's resolution for 2019?

JH: Find a male version of Winx!
