The Magic Millions arena is viewed by Woodside Park Stud as the perfect stage to audition the first progeny of resident stallion Rich Enuff (Written Tycoon) and they’re confident of flawless performances.

Victorian farm Woodside Park Stud's draft at the Gold Coast Yearling Sale from January 9 to 15 will feature a son and a daughter of exciting newcomer Rich Enuff.

“We can’t wait for the rest of the market to see them,” James Price said.

“They are precocious and very muscular and exactly the right types for Magic Millions to promote early 2-year-old speed horses.” – James Price.

Rich Enuff was initially trained by Ken Keys, who produced him to win the G2 Danehill S. off the back of success in the Listed McKenzie S.

He held his form admirably to complete a hat-trick of victories in the G3 Caulfield Guineas Prelude before a runner-up finish in the G1 Caulfield Guineas.

Rich Enuff subsequently transferred to Peter and Paul Snowden’s stable and placed in the G3 Southern Cross S. before his retirement to stand alongside his Group 1 winning father Written Tycoon, a champion sire of 2-year-olds.

“The key to Rich Enuff is that he just finished his third season and he covered more mares than he did in the first two years,” – James Price.

“He’s produced foals that breeders like and come January we’re sure his yearlings will sell well.

“It really bodes well and hopefully we’ll be seeing some decent 2-year-olds out a few months after the Sale.”

The stud’s second offering, Lot 381, is a half-sister to the multiple winner and Group 1 placegetter Masthead (Written Tycoon).

Star sires represented

Woodside will also offer a pair of yearlings by Written Tycoon and two by Zoustar (Northern Meteor).

“It’s exciting to see the Written Tycoons, one of the leading stallions by numbers at Magic Millions and he’s had a great year led by Written By winning the G1 Blue Diamond,” Price said.

Their colt, Lot 380, is from the same family as the Rich Enuff filly being from a half-sister to Matshead.

“He’s out of Balmodena and is a beautiful type who will have plenty appeal,” Price said.

The filly, Lot 485, is out of a half-sister to the G2 Theo Marks S. winner Cluster (Fastnet Rock) and a direct descendant of the G1 Champagne S. winner I Like Diamonds (Baguette).

“She’ll be popular. She’s an exceptional physical type and she’ll meet the market,” Price said.
