Undefeated sprinter Zoustyle (Zoustar) is one out of the box and trainer Tony Gollan hasn’t come across his like before.

The electric 3-year-old has reeled off five consecutive wins, culminating in his last-start victory romp in the Listed Gold Edition S. at Doomben, and he has now gone to the spelling paddock to further strengthen and develop.

Gollan prepared Spirit Of Boom (Sequalo) to win three times at Group 1 level in the William Reid S. and the Doomben 10,000 and his half-brother Temple Of Boom (Piccolo {GB}), who won the G1 The Galaxy, but his current star is a talent apart.

“He’s different to the Booms, he’s got such a high cruising speed and relaxes so well mid-race and can finish off,” Gollan said.

“He’s not like any other horse I’ve ever trained and he’s got a great future. Once he matures more, who knows where he could end up.” – Tony Gollan.

It is with an eye very much to the future, that Gollan and his owners have resisted the temptation to press on with Zoustyle.

It was with eyes to the future that Zoustyle’s connections decided now was the right time to give him a break.

“It was a tough decision, especially with the lure of a potential $500,000 bonus for winning the Vo Rogue Plate over 1350 metres at Doomben in a fortnight as part of the TAB Queensland Summer Crown series,” trainer Tony Gollan said.

“Zoustyle has recovered well from his run on Saturday and we gave very strong consideration to continuing his preparation.” – Tony Gollan.

“It was tricky with the attraction of that big bonus, but we have to do what’s best for the horse.

“With his racing longevity at the forefront of our minds we decided that a spell now would better help his growth and development.

“At this point in time, we have not mapped out the length of his spell or his next campaign.” - Tony Gollan.

Zoustyle kicked off his career with a pair of juvenile victories in the winter before Gollan gave him a break.

“I thought he would come back better, but I’ve been a bit surprised by the times he’s run although they have been on tracks conducive to fast time,” he said.

Front-running style

Zoustyle led all the way in his seasonal debut at Doomben and two further successes have followed in identical fashion.

He is out of the stakes performed mare Fashion (GER) (Anabaa {USA}), who is a half-sister to the G3 Grosser Preis von Berlin winner Felicity (GER) (Inchinor {GB}).

Felicity is the dam of the G2 Krefeld Meilen Trophy and multiple Group 3 winner Felician (GER) (Motivator {GB}) and the black type winner Fly First (GER) (Big Shuffle {GER}).
