The Black Book will identify race performances around Australia particularly worth following in the future. These may be high profile runners at trials and smaller tracks, or eye-catching performances, we'll aim to give you a horse to add to your pedigree or performance black book for the future.

Social media lit-up on Wednesday after the win of Godolphin’s 3-year-old Nindamos (Exceed And Excel) when the gelding went from last to first in a dazzling display over 1350 metres at Wyong.

Ridden by Josh Parr, Nindamos was immediately taken back after the start to settle last in running. Approaching the home turn it was obvious the horse was travelling well but it was going to take a bit of luck to negotiate through the field. Parr opted to come wide into the straight and when the gap presented itself at the 200 metres, Nindamos showed a great turn of foot to gather the field up in the space of the short Wyong straight and win by more than a length on the line.

It was the style of win rarely seen on the Wyong track which generally suits on-pace horses. To come from last to first, Nindamos indicated he is a horse worth following for the future.

In a typical Godolphin preparation Nindamos had two quiet barrier trials in the lead-up to his debut run, but punters still rallied behind the first time starter to send him out $2.50 favourite.

Nindamos is by Exceed And Excel from Group 1 winning mare Neroli (Viscount), herself bred and raced by Darley. Neroli won seven of her twenty-one starts with the Group 1 Queen Of The Turf over 1500 metres at Rosehill her career highlight. Nindamos is her second foal to race.

Meanwhile also at Wyong, Jazzland (Home One The Grange) continued on his winning ways making it back-to-back wins.

Two weeks ago at Wyong Jazzland demolished a similar field by 9 lengths, and although the margin wasn’t as big this time around, it was equally as impressive. He led throughout and won in a fashion that indicates he will win better staying races in the future.

Trained locally by Kristen Buchanan and ridden by Josh Parr in four runs this preparation, Jazzland has won twice and placed second twice. Buchanan is excited he’s finally delivering the talent she knows has always been there.

“I’ve been talking about this horse for two years, I’m just so excited to see him put it together,” Buchanan told Sky Thoroughbred Central.

Jazzland is by bread and butter sire Home On The Grange from an unraced mare Dix (Strategic), light on black type pedigree but rich in wins. Jazzland is her third foal to race, with the other two foals Dixie Lad (Al Samer) and Jar Of Hearts (Ad Valorem) have both made it to open class and amassed more than $100,000 in the country.

The win of Jazzland capped a big day for Josh Parr who rode three winners including Nindamos, Jazzland and the$100,000 Magic Millions 3 & 4 year-old classic winner Problem Solver (Hinchinbrok)

Buchanan indicated Jazzland would now be spelled with better races in mind next preparation.
