Listed Kilmore Cup, Kilmore

Race Summary:

Manuel (Commands) broke through for deserved stakes success when putting on a bold front running display to win the Listed bet365 Kilmore Cup on Sunday.

Manuel, placed twice in four days over the Flemington carnival, broke through for his seventh win in 21 starts thanks to a strong front running ride from Luke Currie.

He won by 1.25l, with Torgerson (NZ) (Pins) second and Fastnet Tempest (Ire) (Fastnet Rock) third after enduring little luck when looking for a run in the straight.

Pedigree Notes:

The 78th stakes winner for Commands, Manuel was a $240,000 buy for McEvoy Mitchell Racing at the 2015 Easter Sales.

He is out of Girl Hussler (Hussonet {USA}), the Listed winning mare who has also produced the black-type winner Taking Aim (Choisir). She recently had a colt by Snitzel and also has a yearling Fastnet Rock filly.

Girl Hussler's dam Vecchia Signora is a half-sister to Dual Hemisphere out of the talented juvenile Clever Zoe (NZ).
