Red Alto (High Chaparral {IRE}) capitalised on a soft run to turn his form around and dent a few reputations at outside odds.
The 70-1 chance was given a smooth run behind the pace by Michael Walker and when the gaps presented itself in the run home they willing drove through for a narrow victory at the expense of Dal Harraild (GB) (Champs Elysees {GB}).
His fellow G1 Melbourne Cup hope Sir Charles Road (Myboycharlie {IRE}) fought gallantly for third ahead of Lord Fandango (GER) (Lord Of England (GER) who came from the tail for fourth.

It is also the family of the North American Group 3 winner, Group 1 placegetter and successful sire Mr Greeley (USA) (Gone West {USA}).
