Von Costa Glass (Von Costa De Hero) caused a significant upset to win the Listed Carlton Draught Murray Bridge Cup on Friday.

One of the outsiders of the 13-horse field, Von Costa Glass came with a strong run at the top of the straight to sweep past his rivals before fending off a late surge from Modulate (Ambidexter) to win for trainer Sue Jaensch and jockey Raquel Clark. Magic Boy (Magic Albert) finished third.

The lightly-raced 7-year old has now won seven from 18 starts and has now won over $200,000 in prizemoney.

Von Costa Glass is the second stakeswinner for Riverbank Farm's Von Costa De Hero.

He is out of Generous Tristana (Generous {Ire}), who has already produced stakeswinner Have Another Glass (Domesday). The younger half-sister by Hussonet, Pretty Glass, is a winner of two of her four starts, while the first foal, Generous Miss (Any Given Saturday) was also a winner.
