Tavistock 2YO slickest at Taupo breeze-ups

A son of Tavistock (NZ) looked sharp when he took part in Inglis’ inaugural breeze-ups on Monday ahead of the 2018 Ready2Race sale.

In what is a major boost for the catalogue, 2018 marks the first time vendors from New Zealand have participated in the sale.

In all, nine horses sprinted up at Taupo with Lot 98, the Tavistock colt out of La Bella (NZ) (Ekraar {USA}) from the draft of Ohukia Lodge ran the fastest time of 10.70s. All of the breeze-ups were conducted on a Good 4 track.

The 2-year-old is a half-brother two winners and his dam is a half-sister to the G2 Counties Cup winner Kaapeon (NZ) (Kaapstad {NBZ}), who was also successful twice at Listed level in the Wellesley S., and the Marton Cup. He was also a dual Group 1 placegetter.

It is also the family of the G2 Auckland Thoroughbred Breeders’ S., winner Casabella Lane (NZ) (Volksraad {GB}) and her sister Pams Pompallier, whose five victories featured the Listed Wairarapa Thoroughbred Breeders’ S.

The times for all of today’s action are available at inglis.com.au and the Inglis iPad app.

The final breeze-up takes place at Sydney this Friday when Warwick Farm hosts 100 juveniles from 10am.
