The stallion parade at the Queensland arm of Aquis’ operation on Sunday drew a strong and generous crowd. A charity auction wrapped up a successful and popular event at the Canungra nursery.

“It was a sensational day, the weather was perfect – nice and sunny with a bit of a breeze and we had about 1000 people here,” Chief Executive Officer Shane McGrath said. “It was a great opportunity to showcase our stallions and we were also fund-raising for the farmers, which is a subject close to all our hearts.”

Breeder Bonus Challenge

Among the newcomers to Aquis are Kiss And Make Up (More Than Ready {USA}), Kobayashi (I Am Invincible) and The Mission (Choisir) with the farm particularly excited by a bonus initiative for supporters of the latter. The Breeder Bonus Challenge will offer payments to breeders of winners from The Mission’s first crop from $25,000 up to $1 million should they win at Group 1 level, the Magic Millions 2YO Classic or the $2,000,000 Inglis 2YO Millennium.

“We’re very excited by that and it’s already worked looking at the calibre of mares he will be covering,” McGrath said. “They are unique opportunities and we’ll be limiting his book to 175.”

With the aid of the Drought Angels, a charity supporting Australian farmers and rural communities, an auction at Aquis on Sunday raised nearly $30,000 through a service to Husson (ARG) (Hussonet {USA}) and other packages. Guests also made gold coin donations, which Aquis matched and they also matched a $5000 donation from the Canungra Show Society.
